Why We March

In 1932, thousands of veterans marched on Washington, D.C. to demand the compensation they were promised after World War I. They came peacefully, with their families, and were met with tanks and tear gas. These veterans became known as the Bonus Army, and their bravery laid the foundation for the GI Bill and the modern Department of Veterans Affairs.

Every generation since has had to fight to preserve the rights and benefits that were earned through service and sacrifice.

  • Black veterans returning from WWII were denied GI Bill benefits by racist institutions.

  • Vietnam veterans were left to suffer without proper care or recognition.

  • Post-9/11 veterans had to camp out on the Capitol steps to win coverage for burn pit exposure.

Now, in 2025, we face a new wave of betrayal.

Veterans are being laid off from the federal workforce en masse. The Department of Veterans Affairs is being dismantled. Our healthcare and benefits are being hollowed out by political ideologues who never wore the uniform.

The Mission

The Unite for Veterans, Unite for America Rally is not about party or politics. It's about defending what is rightfully ours.

We are coming together to:

  • Defend veterans working in the federal government from political purges.

  • Stop the privatization and weakening of the VA, which would leave millions without essential care.

  • Hold leaders accountable for every policy that harms veterans and their families.

This is a call to action for everyone who believes that a promise made to a veteran is a promise that must be kept.

Who We Are

We are the veterans who swore an oath to defend this country. We are the families who stood by them. We are the caregivers, the advocates, and the grateful civilians who believe in honoring that service.

We are the Bonus Army of 2025.

And on June 6, we will gather again on the National Mall — not to ask for favors, but to demand what’s right.

Join us. March with us. Protect what we’ve earned.
